UTEX = Unit Exchange

UTEX is an excellent way to have immediate delivery of already repaired motors to your maintenance depot ready to be installed to facilitate rapid re-deployment of your locomotives back into service. It is a combination of warehousing and repair.

Associated Rewinds can put in place a UTEX (Unit Exchange) program for your D43 TRL & D43 TRC Traction Motors.

When you need a replacement motor, we can send you motors immediately, with a fixed overhaul cost for the casualty motor it is exchanged for.

Once we have the exchange motor, any additional work beyond a standard overhaul will be invoiced per an agreed menu of prices. This system keeps your down time to an absolute minimum.

Float Management

For all other types of motors, we can repair and store your spare motors ready for delivery, however you will only be invoiced for work done when you inform us you want motors delivered.

For example, if you inform us that you require six motors from your float of twelve motors that we have repaired for you, we will deliver them to your depot over a weekend ready for installation, and only then invoice you for these six motors.

We will take the six removed from the loco back to Dublin for repair, but you will not pay for this work until you need these motors again.

We are prepared to put our money into building up a stock of your motors, giving you the ability to increase the reliability and frequency of the service you offer your clients, as well as freeing up your cash flow into other projects.
