OEM manufacturers design a Generic Traction Motor which is produced for the World-Wide marketplace. It is not always possible for OEM’s to design a motor to suit specific environmental conditions.
Associated Rewinds have a unique experience in working with Traction Motors which operate in a wide variety of conditions ranging from Extreme Cold, Wet & Hot conditions. We have successfully addressed issues resulting from Sand, Water & Snow ingress. Engineers at Associated Rewinds have recently upgraded the power output of Traction Motors in a fleet of AC Locomotives from 5.6MW to 7MW resulting in a more cost-effective locomotive with the ability to haul increased loads at greater speeds. The application of our enhancements all contribute to an improvement in the efficiency and performance of Traction Motors supplied by Associated Rewinds, with the added benefit of lower life-time maintenance costs and an extended life-cycle. |
